Dramatic Sales Writing

Copywriting seems to be exploding right now, and
I'm hit with the bug too. I've decided to blog my
own career/development as a copywriter for the
possible edification of other students.

I'm a little unsure of the best way to go about
this. Many copywriters have blogs now, but of
course none of them have personal-stay
copywriting blogs. They are using blogs to
promote their services and products. They're
marketers, for Pete's sake.

Well, I plan to present myself in a professional
way on my web site, to promote my copywriting
services (not quite ready to hang out my shingle
yet), but in the mean time, plan to keep this
more personal.

Blogs should be personal, right?

Like I can criticize those who produce impersonal
blogs, since the blog I created to promote my
book Secrets of Changing to a Computer Career
is about as personal as an IBM product guide!

Yet I can't be totally "let it all hang out and
the chips fall where they may," since I have
to think that eventually it may be read by
clients or potential clients checking me out.

So if the tone changes in the days or months
to come, it means I either have less to say
that's personal about copywriting, or I'm
more fully into promotional mode.

And to be honest, don't think I'm doing this
just as a hobby or to help organize my
thoughts on how to best go about this new
career I'm beginning.

Those Google Adwords at the top of each entry
are not there for decoration! I am hoping that
some of you readers will find some of them
interesting and click on them, making me some
money.

But I am a Google Adwords advertiser myself,
so click on them ONLY if you find an ad
compelling.

And I won't rule out promoting copywriting-related
affiliate products down the road.
