new ebook!
It seems like a million years since I've posted
to this blog.
Not that I'm not writing copy -- I've just been
too busy with other Internet marketing.
Last summer I joined an expensive mentorship
program under two very successful copywriters,
along with a group of others.
That took a lot of my time for a while. I
dropped out several months ago for reasons
I'm not sure I want to go into. I have both
good and bad things to say about it but in
the end the bad along with the high monthly
cost won out.
I will say that the initial telephone call
which introduced us to what these two gurus
had to say was excellent. I got far more
value out of it than the $100 I was charged.
To a lesser extent, that's true of the
follow up phone call.
Then after being convinced to spend the $500 a
month, I did still get value . . . but 90% of
the entire value came from the first phone
call.
Anyway, another lesson learned.
Also a consideration was that I got a great
idea for a new ebook. I immediately launched
into researching and writing it, and that took
a lot of time away from me approaching
copywriting as a business in itself.
Instead, I'm busy marketing my book.
I will say that one of the above gurus did
read my first draft of my sales letter and
pointed me in the direction of a key
sales tactic -- to be found in Eugene
Schwartz's BREAKTHROUGH ADVERTISING. So I
do appreciate that.
Anyway, thanks to what I've learned studying
copywriting, I'm better able to market this
new ebook than the other two I wrote.
And it started with AWAI's Accelerated Course
for 6 Figure Copywriting.
